About Me
Welcome!
For as long as I can remember, my family and friends have encouraged me to document and share my experiences from the many places I've lived in or visited around the world.
Mwape’s Notes is a space where I’ll be sharing stories and reflections on a variety of topics close to my heart—travel, food, wellness, hikes, treks, and more.
Whether you're here for inspiration, information, or just a good read, I'm glad you stopped by.
I’m originally from Kalukushi, a small town in Zambia where stories are shared as often as nshima, and gossip travels faster than the local bus. In 1993, I packed up my life and moved to France. Since then, I’ve lived in Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Cameroon, the British Virgin Islands, and now London.
Becoming a grandmother — Gammy! — gave me the nudge I needed to finally start this blog. I wanted a space to preserve and share the things I love most: food that comforts, books that transport, hikes that challenge (and occasionally confuse my knees), and reflections from a life lived across continents.
This is part travel journal, part recipe collection, part love letter to family — both born and found. If you leave here a little hungrier, more curious, or just a bit more connected, then I’ve done my job.
Welcome to my world — pull up a chair and stay a while.
